People love to ask, “How you doing?” and they expect the usual answer: busy, tired, hanging in there. But lately my answer is simple:
I’ve never been better.
Not because life is perfect. Not because nothing hurts. Not because every plan is working out. I’m better because I stopped letting circumstances run my attitude. I stopped waking up and waiting for the world to “act right” before I act right.
A positive attitude isn’t pretending. It’s not denial. It’s not fake smiles and motivational quotes on a bad day.
It’s a decision.
It’s saying: I can’t control everything, but I can control what I do next.
It’s choosing progress over complaining.
It’s choosing peace over proving a point.
It’s choosing gratitude without needing a special occasion.
Some days, positivity is loud. You feel unstoppable. You’re in your zone. You’re creating, moving, building, laughing.
Other days, positivity is quiet. It looks like:
- getting up anyway
- taking the next small step
- drinking water, making the call, doing the work
- keeping your word to yourself
- not spiraling over what you can’t fix today
That kind of positivity is powerful. Because it’s real.
And here’s what I’ve learned: your attitude is a multiplier.
A good day with a bad attitude becomes a bad day.
A hard day with a strong attitude becomes training.
So when I say “never been better,” I mean I’m better at:
- protecting my energy
- staying focused on what matters
- not letting noise decide my mood
- being proud of the person I’m becoming
I’m not waiting for the perfect moment. I’m not waiting for permission. I’m not waiting for the world to calm down.
I’m choosing better—today.
